Guys

can you help as I don't have the hub to try it on and selling a BNIB freewheel that I bought in error
(needed an eight speed) and my knowledge only runs to MTB's and not shinny Italiano Campag gear :D

can you advise if it will fit (See below), it went on a Ringle Bubba just fine if that helps and I can look at the end of the box when I get home for more info.

message from Buyer

I have a Campagnolo 7-speed hub, and think your freewheel should work.
Just wanted to check with you first.

since I now live in a mountainous area of Spain, I changed my chainring from 53-39 to 50-34. So a 12-tooth small cog will help compensate for the difference (I am currently using a 13-28 7-speed freewheel
).

I'm selling a few bits off to pay for my first road bike, and will be joining your ranks soon when I collect it :D

thanks

Nick

Cheers LGF

It fitted just fine on a Yankee Doodle Dandy Ringle and therefore using the Sheldon info your right its 24 TPI so should be okay on a Campag

I have run 2 different Sachs Maillard freewheels (6 and 7 speed) on 2 different Campag hubs so i'd say it should be fine. As above just make sure the threads match (English or Italian). It will state this on both hub and freewheel.

Re:

Be slightly cautious. I have a 130 spaced C Record setup. 2 infact. In order to get the camag spaced (ie the brown and not the black spacers. The black are shimano) to work I had to add a 1mm spacer to the axle. The issue was that the chain would go perfectly onto the smallest sprocket but when you changed down to a larger cog the chain would foul the frame and that was with a 9 speed chain, which runs better than an 8 speed. In the event they are using shimano spacing I expect that it would work fine. From memory if you look at the options on the order page for the C Record groupset there is no option to tick for an 8 speed setup. That's for the first generation freehub.

I had a fair bit of trial and error to get it all to sync as there's little info out there.
