i found out that there's a 9 speed grip shift from sachs

anyone knows anything about this?

what would be the lightest 9 spd grip shift you know?

any info very much appreciated

cheers

Alecs

yep, but it's not compatible with precision billet or shimano rear mechs

i already bought a sram attack grip shift (195gr and compatible with shimano) but i heard someone speaking about these sachs gripshift that weight about 120gr

Not weighed mine but I do know the Sachs brandname continued for a while after the SRAM buyout.

For a couple of years (98 or so) the Sachs shifters were made in the "half pipe" and "normal gripshift.

I am fairly sure that the Plasma version was marketed as being very very light.

Hi,

If weight is the issue? then you could hunt down a Ritchey 2x9 wcs set up.

The ritchey's are a Sachs shifters and 42/29 custom Ritchey rings and a ti 9th cog to attatch to an 8 speed block. The rear wheel has to be built with an off centre rim to accomedate the dished cog.

I am using mine with a sachs Centera rear and a Sram 9.0 front mech.

thanks

weight is not the main issue, but it is one of the issues

i am working on a slim and fast clockwork that i want to bring under 9 kg's

sadly it's not gong to be 100% retro but i am trying my best

i googled the ritchey wcs shifters and found nothing, but what you are saying sounds very good.
running currently on 44/32 only so it might work without changing the chainrings

cheers
