Rusty Sonic racer

I have been given this rather sorry looking racing bike by the original owner who has left it outside for a very long time as you'll see from the pics! It appears to have good components if they will free off, DuraAce shifters and hubs, ambrosio rims, Ultegra mechs and brakes, Campagnolo cranks with TA rings. The bars and stem are Cinelli criterium I'm guessing mid 90's?

It may need a new chain

What a shame it has got in such a state!

I've not heard of Sonic, but you're right: it has some quality components.

You'd expect someone to upgrade a bike with newer parts, so my guess would be that it's from the Eighties: the Super Record crank being older than the STi and dual-pivot brakes.
