Running 10 speed on a 753 frame.

From reading all the forums I know you should never, ever, ever, re-space a 753 frame to 130mm and run 10 speed.
So, has anyone ever done it and what happened?

Did you catch a horrible disease.
Did you die.
Did the bike die (if so how quickly).

Wow, I'd forgotten all about Neil Orrell Cycles, the only time I ever tried to visit (a few years ago) it was closed.
For the last 12 months I've been working in Hollinwood, about half a mile away.

Think he is closed all day Weds, but he has forgotten more about 753 than most people know..

I run ten speed on my 126mm spaced 753...forgive me (for I might have sinned!). I did remove a washer from the left hand side of the axle and re-dish the wheel slightly. Goes in fine with enough clearance for the smallest sprocket. There's a thread on here somewhere talking about re-spacing 753 frames, or rather, the fact that you can't!
