Was just reading the thread about bikes/brands you dislike and it struck me that for for almost every brand that doesn't appeal to me I can generally think of one model bike I wouldn't say no to.
Seems to me it's mostly about mass production/low end presence that puts most people off. But even these manufacturers produce frames at the high end that are often very nice.
I have a Giant ATX team hardtail which I'm liking a lot. I'm no fan of Giant and only bought the frame as a cheap ebay bargain as I had the idea of entering a few XC races this year for motivation to get fit. I have to admit this is a nice riding, quality frame and I even like its looks.
I'm not so keen on GT's these days, but still have a soft spot for the Zaskars, white splatter Avalanches and definitely the Xizangs and would love an early high end steel one.
So for you guys who have a blanket hatred for a certain brand, what is the one bike by that manufacturer which you would have to concede is pretty nice?
