Rudy Project bikes???

Hi all,

Just had a little thing going through my mind today... a few weeks ago I was visiting a bike shop and they had some super-old Rudy Project bike hanging there. The owner told me it was an old ex-rental MTB.

It looked quite nice in its own "80ies style", had some neon color paint scheme, all deore components with thumbies and all. I couldn't find anything on the web about these bikes. Were they some re-branded other bikes? I have to say it resembled my old AlpineStars CroMega DX very very VERY much, frame-wise that is.

Anyone know about these bikes? I only know RP from their glasses

I've also seen hardtails, but aluminium only. Steel RPs is new to me.

Well, as I'm around there this weekend I'll go check... maybe he'll even sell it to me cheap. But I think it's a very large size (at least for me it is), around 20". But it's really a steel frame, and like I said: from further away it looked a lot like my old (non e-stay) AlpineStars.

Will try to get a pic, or maybe even the bike because it would be a shame if they bin it...

I did dig a little deeper in my memory and now I vaguely recall Tommy Post, Hollands 1st ATB pro, raced them. Unfortunately the mags Tommy and bike are in are not easy accesable
