Good evening.
I've never strayed to this side of the forum before. As will become clear from the following listing, mountain bikes aren't really my thing any more. I had a Specialized Hard Rock (a nasty modern one, you wouldn't like it...), it got stolen, and ever since then anything with tyres wider than 28c is too painful to bear.
However, I have been tasked by selling the aforementioned bike. It belonged to my sister's boyfriend who, judging by the size of him and the condition of the bike, didn't use it much. My mum then used it a bit, but it's too big for her, and now she's restored an old Pashley she's happily riding that.
The bike in question is a Rudge Bi-Frame folding mountain bike. I'd seen it knocking about in our shed for a while, and never knew it folded. Looks-wise, it's no Brompton. Unfortunately (see below) this also means it hasn't really been designed as a chic, fold-into-a-handy-package sized bike, more a you'll-probably-get-this-in-a-small-hatchback's-boot -which-would-otherwise-be-too-small-for-a-bike sized.
The spec is all stock:
Suntour Accushift XCE derailleurs and gears (3x7)
SR Sakae 'Ovaltech' Biopace-style chainrings
Joytech hubs/Araya rims
Dia-Compe levers and cantis
Measurements are:
Seatpost, centre to BB 52cm
Seatpost, centre to bottom 60cm
Top tube, centre to centre 57cm
I'm not really sure what this means, firstly because I don't know mountain bikes, and secondly because I've never seen a bike with a BB 8cm up the seat tube before.
The mechanical condition I would describe as very good, I would say mint apart from the brake blocks have seen a tiny bit of wear, and the cables are showing their age in a way the rest of the bike is not.
Aesthetically it has a few scratches here and there from careless garage and shed storage, but is otherwise very tidy.
The bike is currently located near Northwich, in Cheshire. I am returning to London on Saturday afternoon, and can bring it with me if you're seriously interested. Otherwise, collection can be arranged.
Please feel free to PM me with any queries, offers, comments, criticisms.
The price I am asking is £110. I think this sounds like a decent price for a quick sale, given the condition, but you're very much the experts here, so if I'm way off (under or over...) please let me know!
Cheers for reading
