I'd like one but don't have the readies floating about :(
I'd also like to match it to the Sram 'gearbox' cranks. It'd look like a SS but have 28 gears :D

I've had one for a few years. It's a lovely gear, but I find I just prefer singlespeeds, so the Speedhub isn't getting the use it deserves. I've thought about putting it into my old Stumpjumper, but I think I want thumbshifters on that, so the Rohloff will have to wait its turn.

If I lived somewhere hillier I think it might get more use, mind.

Shimano Alfine is a cheaper and lighter option- but smaller gear range.

No experience of either though...

I am going SS on next build.

I would like to have one but cost too much money at the moment, it's something I would have in the future when it's cheaper, another five years I reckon it will be on most new bikes.

I'd have one if it were hillier round here. My mate's got one on a 29"er, works great, looks tidy (no ugly mech!) I had no problem with grip shift, & my hand got very muddy on it.

Having seen Roy's Speedhub in action I'm mightily impressed although again it comes down to cost - I don't think I have many bikes that cost 800 quid complete! The Speedhub still does appeal though - with it's minimal maintenance it would cope really well with gritty, rocky and/or gloopy i.e. UK almost year round.

I'll be getting one in the next month or so. A nice little red anodized number.

I may well have this wrong, but aren't the red Speedhub's powder coated?

Not any more! All of the Speedhubs are now anodized. And it doesn't have the odd looking silver bit on the left side any more. :D
