rocky mountain

hi
how come no two of these summit's i've seen are painted exactly the same with respects to the break between the white and the red. and none seem to match the catalogue pictures in the gallery? so which paint scheme is correct? any one have an opinion? :?

and here including a NOS one

My guess is the Eurobike one is the one in the catalogue but with the lever routing switched for the area ? probably the test one used through 1989
Every other one you see are production ones, as much as production was them days with rocky.

hi
thanks for the info/comments. decal placement is another issue also. some have rocky mountain decal on top tube and some on down tube.
majority on down tube which is kind of a rocky standard i believe. but catalogue shows otherwise.

I always say don't believe the rocky mountain catalogues, especially for the early bikes.

Development was on going, things where outsourced for frame building even the high end bikes and things couldn't be done as quick as they can in the digital processing age.

My best example is hte 1992 Altitude, only as I know it.
The picture is the 1992 frame with a lot of 1991 kit on it, Ritchey/XT, but the bike was full XTR as mentioned in the spec. So you cannot do a a correct build there.

The pictures also use older Syncros parts, when the newer style where out and would have been supplied. Can't blame them as Syncros even picture a bike in clad with older style in the 1992 syncros catalouge when they then go on to show all the new styles

Stalen Rocky Mountain Summit mtb "16 inch uit 1988.
Stolen, Rocky Mountain Summit 17" from 1990

Waarschijnlijk was dit de eerste Rocky in nederland!
I'll say it might have been the first Rocky in Holland as it sounds good probably imported across the border from Germany

In the middle of 1990, found in a boot of Canada ...
.. 21 years old today ...
Middle range, a unique model, good or new start.
Comes with original Syncros forks, bars, seatpost, not barends and a high rise T-Bone for my bad back as the bikes too small since I've grown up.

Rocky had dit model als pronkstuk op de beurs staan in Friedrichshaven maar wel in een slechtere conditie!!!
Rocky had this model prop-up the bars, standing in Friedrichshaven, and it's still there in excellent condition.

So there you go, no excuse now.
Or for more information try the asking Niellesie to translate and not me. Though some of mine is more accurate.

(Waarschijnlijk - the only word I looked up, I guessed/corected the rest )

good effort FluffyChicken! Fun to read to, for all the dutchies...

if anyone needs an even better translation, let me know!
