I think most people who like Konas also like Rocky Mountains, and vice versa. After all, they are very similar in their looks/geometry and in many other respects.

Sorry, you really are just having a chuckle here. I will not bite too much.

I'm sure you know that I'm being perfectly serious, and the truth of what I wrote is self-evident to most people. Whether you 'bite', as you put it, is entirely up to you.

I think half the reason they don't make much money is so few people are aware of just how good these early RMs are.

There's currently three on ebay, the Hammer, the questionable Team Comp, and Sinnetts Experience. I'll wager none of them will make good money. The Hammer has the wrong graphics and looks like a cheapie dressed up, the Team Comp looks even worse and the Experience frame has a small crack which although a minor problem will doubtless deter many buyers.

I must confess to being tempted by the Experience frame as I've always fancied an elevated RM, but I've got to be honest, that crack's putting even me off (especially with a cracked Stratos frame hanging in the garage awaiting the deft hand of a superwelder).

I really fancy the jacket and leggings too, but I won't be bidding as I'm really just after a jersey.

agreed. I swapped my T.O frame for some V's - and is turning out to be a nice bike - its not steel though. or rigid. the rigid steel frames are great riding bikes, better than the steel Konas IMHO (Ive never tried a Ti RM so I dont know about those, but my Hei Hei was awesome).

I dont really think that Konas and Rockys are that similar though, apart from both being canadian and having sloping top tubes.

The expereience is a really nice frame. It had the small crack in the seat tube when I had it, rode it several times and it never changed.

It will put people off, but unless you are looking for that daily rider, a chance to pick up a nice frame thats just had a lot of elbow grease on that will be fine for the occasional retro ride.

Saying a Kona is like a Rocky is about as relevant as saying any other early nineties frame is like a Rocky IMO.

Forgot that was your old one Gump – figured it was something that got built but not ridden. Might well go for it after all then – something to think about over the weekend, there's still a fair few days to run. Sinnett did a fantastic job with it – it would be a shame if it were to leave the Retrobike community.

Before me it was Matt Payne on here (though not so often now). Good guy who had it from new, so not like its an unknown.

Or you could pick up a tatty as hell Hahanna instead??
No contest really. Pick it up while you can!

congrats to whoever won it and got a great deal. me i totally forgot and missed out on this.
