I'm needing to know what year this RM is. Apparently a stratos, aluminium 1.1/8" headtube. riveted cable stops and a colour unlike any in the dog-alogues.

The olivey gold paint seems to have been in-house as there is a decal with "RM something paint"

So, year and model confirmation would be a good start.

Serial no....YA21079.

Re:

1992 Rocky Mountain Stratos, quicksilver colour, should really be grey as it's a grey powdercoat.

Measure them centre to top. Should have brightish orange form with it.

Anything else

Re:

The other pictures are showing now. Only had the first. But that's the Performance Paints decal. I.e
1992 they started Powder coating for durability and weight savings over the old style paints. That's what they called it.
And can be no date after 1992 since it's a wishbone stay.
Might have the clear Gold coating the 1993 had, bit it is not a 1993.
Late model, demo, import, prize or just happened to be like that.
What you doing with it?

Re:

Anything else...

Seatpost size would be useful. and how it was binded, a quick release or a nut and bolt thing?

Centre to top makes it 17" or there abouts. The top tube is quite long at 22 and a quarter. the current state is powdery oxide and bubbled paint, kinda solid though. I'll see about powdercoating it. Too small for me to ride comfortably but it's just a nice thing to have :)

cheers fluff.

Re:

Hi,

I still got some bits from a Stratos frame I bought on here, unfortunately with a knackered b/b shell :( , such as a 26.8 Ritchey seat post in black as well as a black seat QR.
Hope this gives you an idea what to look for, of course if interested, I could sell you the above parts as I don't have an immediate need for them at the mo.

E.

Looks like a '92 Stratos to me, it's very similar to mine actually. Although serial number format is different. Mine only contains numbers:

From what I can recall, the brochure mentions it takes a 26.8 seatpost, but when I inserted one in my frame it was too small. So I took a 27.0 instead that fits fine.

And yes, very long top tube!

Re:

Yep it's a 27.0 Ritchey seatpost and that is a very tired 1992 model which was silver powdercoat with orange decals with a light blue shadow
