My partner has always told me that if she had a decent bike she would ride it.

Attempt number 1 was a 16" Gt LTS. I had this off BBB with a set of Karma Z1's which needed work. Mocked it up with bars, saddle and the Bomber's and it was massive - big enough nearly for me and I usually ride 20" bikes. So back to the drawing board.

Attempt number 2. Raleigh M-trax ti-1000. Well this was originally for me but was an 18" so too small for me about an inch to big for Clair. So that went up for sale/swap. Which lead to.....

Attempt number 3. A Rocky Mountain Fusion from 1995. Courtesy of Shinobi. Just a shame that Hermes f#cked the M-Trax. Sorry Paul. :-(

So here's how the RM arrived.

Got a set of Decals from eBay just to tidy it up.

Didn't realise (being half asleep when ordering) they were black.

I think they look quite good though. The black on purple is almost ghosting :-) nice and subtle. Headtube and seat tube stickers are original.

Gears and brakes are pretty much courtesy of the Mtrax. So Alivio shifters, canti's and front mech. I have an M560 rear mech. Cranks are basic Alivio from Shed. Stem I'm undecided. Will depend on the forks.

The next choice is forks. She wants suspension. So i bought some Judy Xc's from Martin_M.

The Judy's look good too. Just need a rebuild and another springy bit. But are a little flexy. But Clair isn't heavy so I guess that's not too much of an issue.

What do people out there think?

Looks like I'm going to need a stem too now :-)
Hi ben , coming together then :D
is a 100 mm too long ? sure i have slightly tatty bonty one , 1 1/8 , 25.4 and with a 10 or 15 deg rise but i think its 100 or even 110 , any use ?

Cheers Paul

Those Girvins should have a brace on the front with the canti hanger as part of it, like mine (at least that's what I presume it is as it has a hole through the middle of it to fit a cable outer):

The cranks arrived yesterday thanks to Shed. Installed them just waiting now for the rest :) Can't wait now :)

Re:

Getting there. Waiting for forks, front mech, cables, chain and cassette then ready to rock.

New decision. The Alivio canti's I was going to use. Or some Suntor See XCD with the Pedersen self energising brakes on the rear?
