So I recently acquired this beautiful old cyclocross bike, an aquaintance of mine who collects vintage MTBs picked it up in Toronto thinking he'd use it as a commuter, but it was too large for him. It happens to fit me perfectly!
The Futural is probably better known in Europe than in North America, which I would guess explains why this bike is wearing Rocky Mountain head and seat tube badges - perhaps a similar deal to RM's mid 1980s deal with Ritchey.
Just a couple of bad cellphone pictures for now - more and better when I've made some aesthetic adjustments.
The bike has an eclectic build, Japanese cockpit (Sakae), Shimano DX/XT/105 shifting/braking, A French Miche crankset and very nice Campagnolo Record/Mavic MA40 wheelset. The Campy cassette works just fine with the Shimano derailleur/chain/shifters.
