Rockshox mag 20/21/sl ti overhauling?

Thanks for letting me know the time diff, i will see how the sl ti's are but like you say they look in really good condition so i hope they will be fine when they get here.
as for the standard mag 21's i think they could do with a good looking at,they were only $60 so i was expecting the worsed i was amazed the hold air/no signs of leaking as far as i can tell but would be much happier if someone who knows what there looking at/doing has a gander at them!!

Dave.

Thanks
I hope the sl's are fine seen as they cost the earth!!
But the mag 21's are a different prospect they hold air/water in a fashion i think but dont look the best externally, there is no signs of oil on the sanction's but i doubt they have been looked at since new!!
would want them working fine for when they get used or sold on.

Somewhere I have a print off of the Mag 10 / 21 / 21SL service manual. I keep intending to scan it in. Seem to remember the last time I did mine (which was a while ago now, I admit) it was just a case of undoing the top cap, emptying the oil and adding more to within a specified distance from the top of the fork leg. Been a while though so might be talking gibberish. Let me know if you'd like the service manual and I'll see if I can dig it out and scan it in. :)

Cheers that would be great, would you be able to email it to me also so I can keep a "hard copy" for future ref?

I will send my email by p.m.

Cheers Dave.

Cheers thanks alot for that,I guess they are pretty straight forward to do?
I figure quite a few guys on here are ex racers/worked in bike shops?
I have always kept an eye on what's been going on but when I last went out riding properly I was 15/16 so suspension was just really taking off,I never had oil/air forks had the old shocktech copy manitou forks so never really had to strip down rebuild them at all.
I wouldn't want to start doing something and create more damage also I wouldn't know what was ok and not, thats why I wondered if anywhere in the uk had a business doing this or did it part time?

The Mag21's are really simple forks to strip and service yourself. If you remove the main circlip then add enough air pressure they will separate and you can give them a once over then rebuild with the correct oil levels.

I serviced and rebuild arround 5 Mag 21 within the last year, but found out, that even with the proper tools, the main seal does not comes off easily. reason for that was, that in between the seal and the body water remained their, and that alloy corroded and held the seal in place. a lot of force was needed to free the seal. Check that part of the fork for corrosion before starting the procedure.
