Which bolts we talking fella, excuse my ignorance as I dont normally do suspension..

the canti studs, the ones holding the brace on and the ones in the bottom of the fork legs.

Thanks for that fella, Is there any weight difference in the actual lower legs/stanchions etc... or is it just in the bolts ?

from memory the only difference is the colour...but I may be wrong.

Well I have not weighed the two forks on the scales but there does seem to be quite a weight difference between the two forks, which I assume is the bolts and speedsprings in the DHs... Will have to have a look at the two on the ol' scales when I get back

The dh will have an extra cartridge in as well.

One method is if they can be fitted to a bike, bung a zip tie around the fork stancion,like i have on the pic attached.

98's defo. To change travel means finding a short travel kit and short travel cartridge - good luck.

I have run my Parkpre Pro Image on 80mm travel 98 Judy XC's, the bike was designed around an 65mm travel fork, the bike handles fine with the longer travel fork.

1. it's the length that affects the handling, not the travel
2. there's no way that a 42cm fork can have more than 63mm travel, if that - more likely 50mm

Take a look at this pair, which the seller thinks are 98s, but I think are 97s - look how much more exposed stanchion there is compared to on yours. I'd bet yours are set to short-travel at the moment.
