rockhopper comp 21'inch frame 1988..how much is it worth?

I am stripping this 21 inch rockhopper frame and transferring the group set to an 89 rockhopper comp 17 inch size frame.

How much should i sell the old 88 frame for?..possibly with the original brakes, and bottom bracket.(headset will be removed)..the frame is in an average condition..the whole bike is completely original.

i was thinking around £50 posted but i've got no idea..things like this are worth whatever anyone really wants to pay for it..

As you say it's a tricky one as there maybe someone out there who is desperate for that very frame and would pay £50..

But in my experience...

1) Big frames narrow down the market
2) Old Spesh's (with perhaps the exception of stumpjumpers) are not particularly collectable.
3) U-brake bikes are not desirable on the whole..

I think you'd struggle to get £50 for the Frame/Forks/heaset & BB, but give it a whirl and see what happens..

You need to find a lanky bloke, whose first MTB was a Rockhopper and who reminisces about haring through Epping Forest in his youth.

As Hilts says, you may struggle to sell it!
