rock shox sid forks SOLD!!

Bugger all I can do about it, just not very gentlemanly was it..

Lesson learned - let someone else ask the questions

not trying to start a fight but if someone is selling something then it is up to them who they sell to, not me or you. Seems someone got in there before you simple as- IMHO a question does not constitute an offer Steve.

very true. Unfortunately gt Steve the guy had paid in less than two minutes . Don't want to cause any bad blood here but he came up trumps with first .

no you're right it doesn't... but when a sale ad has no details, questions need to be asked... can't just say 'yes please' so I asked.

Then the details got posted and someone else jumped in... all in a 20 minute timeframe. I could understand your point if hours had passed, but they hadn't

I can't live on here clicking on the refresh button for my answer, and instantly reply with a yes please.

I pride myself in being a gentleman on here, in the sale arena, an kind of expect the same from others.

It's not a matter of how soon he paid. If I'd not asked the question (due to no crucial information) would he not have known the details..

If the information was in the ad, I would've said yes please (and paid instantly) way ahead of the others..

Like I say - a bit of a kick in the teeth, a quick pm to me to see if I was interested, as someone else had said yes please, would've been a bit more gentlemanly don't you think?

Cripes, a can of worms seems to have been cracked open. Almost wish my train wasn't delayed on my way home so had some unexpected time to surf the net and spotted this.

I did state I'd take them if available and had no intention of jumping any orderly queue forming. If I had I wouldn't have bothered posting in the thread, I'd have just sent a cheeky pm as seems to be the trend these days.

No can of worms fella.. :)

Just my opinion that i asked for additional information to help see if they were suitable for my build and then before I even know it, they're sold.

Should I have said "are they 80mm or 100mm and do they have disc mount, oh and yes please in advance of the information being close to what I need, I have the cash waiting, please get back to me asap as I can pay first"

probably a bit cynical, that last bit, but you get the idea..

Top Tip for next time is to post- "I will have these please, will pm you for some more details". Get yer PM in quick and if they don't fit the bill, post again saying "you will pass on to the next fella"- simples. (your just gutted cause you missed a bargain Steve- go on admit it  :D )

Same thing happened to me the weekend with those Ti Funk forks, gutted, I thought after asking some questions, arranging and committing to saying I would have them they were mine only to find out someone paid before I had a chance.

Sorry to hyjack.
