Rock Shox seal removal

I know there's an abundance of people out there with Rock Shox service experience. So here's a simple one for you.

Removing the main seals, according to the manual, requires a tool - is this necessary or is there a way to remove them without the tool?

Also, which oil do people use when refilling them?

I think you can remove them without the tool , but they might get damaged .

Do you mean the dust wipers?
You can pull them out with a screwdriver, but be carefull.
The oil is just normal fork oil, in manuals you can find the exact oil, but most bike shops have oil for forks.

Nah - got the dust wipers off without a problem, also removed the main seal spring clips.... the bit I'm talking about is the next stage - steps 3 thru 6 below to be precise.
