Unfortunately USPS requires the item be shipped Priority Mail in order to have insurance which drives up the price. The Klein tires I sent to Europe last week cost just under $40.

Of coarse if a buyer wants to assume responsibility for loss or damage and waive the insurance the shipping cost comes way down.

I thought usps, for international, larger than a certain size, requires priority mail. I think it's on anything over 4 pounds. Forks get close with packaging.

Not so, but if you send it first class and add insurance or proof of delivery the rate gets as high as Priority so just go Priority in the first place.
