I didn't want to sell these, but needs must. A fairly tidy set of Judy SL forks. No decals I'm afraid, but all the ti bolts/fittings are present, the crown is nice and shiny, plus the steerer is absolutely huge at around 210mm so should fit almost any frame really. It also has a full set of very good condition elastomers (as pictured). Lowers are in very good shape imho too.

I have had the damper out and refilled with 7.5wt oil and it is holding firm after a few days sat in the garage, and the damping works as it should as a result (I do test daily), and there is no sign of leaking on the floor under the forks either since doing the job. Update: there is a slight leak sadly.

Adjusters all work and are in great shape too, no marks to speak of.

The stanchions are in great shape and are practically unmarked inside and out (see newest pic for confirmation), so all in all a great set of SLs that should last for a long while yet, as bushings also seem fine with no play (and the fact that they haven't marked the stantions).

The only thing that lets this fork down cosmetically is the canti brace, as this has picked up some chips along the way, though not something that can't be fixed with a little touching up or a respray, as you can remove it of course.

If you want a v brace, I have one I can throw in for free, but the previous owner I believe cut the canti mount off and filed it back, so it isn't very tidy in terms of paint, but the cut and file job is tidy enough to make me think that it may actually be a v brace.

I'm after £65 posted (now £60), but if you think I am way out on price, do let me know.

I can throw in a set of Judy type 3 springs for £5 (yellow and red mix), and if you want an instant way to tidy up these forks, I can sell a Styff Carbon canti brace (stealth, no decals, though there are some in the box) for an extra £35 (£40 on it's own, though was not necessarily planning to sell this, so if it greases the wheels on the fork sale, so be it).

I do also have a set of Rock Shox decals that I could also let go with the forks. They are from a Judy FSX decal kit I was saving for my FSX forks, but the RS decals are fine, so again, if it helps the sale, then I will include them. If I find them, I do also have a set of XC lower decals, but I have misplaced them. They are obviously not correct for the fork, but you can have them if you want them (and I can find them). You can get a repro decal set of these forks for £7, so not a huge amount would be needed to get these back to spec.

I do have, though was not planning to sell, a brand new wings damper/spring kit for Judy forks that I would be prepared to sell as well (£50), and again, wasn't planning on selling, but might be persuaded

Persuasive PM being composed and incoming

Re: Rock Shox Judy SL

Edit: must read properly

Also interested in the wings kit if available 8)

Re: Rock Shox Judy SL

Wings kit interest noted. Not sure if I should say I have a nos englund air kit as well.

Re: Rock Shox Judy SL

Wings and englund air kit sold. Will do the forks for £60 posted

Re: Rock Shox Judy SL

I've taken these apart this evening to inspect the damper and it didn't have much oil in. I've opened it up, given it a clean and refilled with 7.5wt oil. The damper shaft was clean as a whistle, no scoring to report, and with it all back together, seems to work fine now. The bottom seal is held in place by a cap and the circlip, and so should not move/leak. Gravity will do the rest on the top seal. When cycling by hand out of the fork, the damper worked fine with no discernable leak to speak of, so it should be as good as the plastic bodied dampers ever were. Based on serial numbers on the seals, it should even be possible to get replacements, as they have similar numbers to bearings I.e. 6001 (should have noted what they actually were, sorry).

The upshot is, the fork now has damping as well as a full elastomer stack, though whether this 'fix' is long term I can't say, only time and use will tell.

I'll add a few pics of it all before I fitted it back together for reference tomorrow.

Re: Rock Shox Judy SL

Pic added of the stantions free of the fork, plus the refilled damper cartridge before I put it all back together.

Happy to report that there are no pools of oil on the garage floor under the fork since doing it as well.
