Rock Shox Indy xc vs Quadra

Hi guys,

I have got a 1995 ish Orange C16R frame on the way that I am planning to build up along with my 1990 clockwork.
these are my first 2 ever retro builds so I am totally new to this.
I plan to keep the standard rigid forks on the clockwork but for the c16r I want some retro budget front sus.

I have 2 forks and cant decide which one would be best:
- Rock shox Indy XC
- Rock shox Quadra

I am struggling to find and comparable info on these 2. I am guessing they are both lower end but are there any recommendations out there on which one you would use.

cheers

I think the Indy replaced the quadra so in theory should be the better of the two, but a lot will depend on how much use either of yours have seen.

I think the Indy xc is a better fork than either the Quadra 5/10 or 21R, so I'd say go with the Indy.
Does either of the forks "look" better on the bike though?

both appear in decent condition (havent arrived yet). paint looks good on both as do decals.

the indy are in creamy white, Quadra in dark grey. frame is yellow :D

Indy is just a rebranded evolution of the quadra. Indy is not correct for that year. quadra depending on model might/might not be.
I would first check the steerer to see if both fit. it might decide it for you. or the spring / elastomer being in good condition.

EDIT/ phone auto typing stuff.

The indys have a more modern springing system (type 2 - part coil part elastomer) and one piece lowers

otherwise they're the same fork

the exception is the indy s - this was a poverty fork that had the old one-stage elastomer system and 48mm

some yellow Quadra 21R's would suit it

Grey Quadra's point to possibly being Quadra 5's which had simple elastomer inside.

there were yellow indy's - the SLs. and they were one of the lightest forks of all time.

there the ones.

not sure about anthing about either fork just wanted some retro rockshox with a 1" steerer :D
