What are "Cut down MA40 Mavic wheels."? Not a term I've come across AFAIR.
But it is ver' pretty.

Keith Bontrager took 700c MA40s back in the day and cut 'n' shut 'em (with a bit of rolling in between). All but impossible to find in that condition now...

But Mavic were also making 26" ma40s by 89/90, so it's not certain those are rolldowns. I've read that the Mavic logo is incomplete on authentic rolldowns because that's where the seam was.

When I'm braising,I use quite a bit of oil and herbs, but of course the balsamic vinegar might be corrosive?

That’s what the seller told me, kept in his loft since new, due to a serious knee injury. poor ad he should have wrote in it everything he told me as it’s a great story.
It’s like I purchased it from new. Tyres are shocking !! Over time originals perished.

Slackboy is exactly right. Originals were cut at the pinned joint, so are easy to tell.

They are very very rare. Most are mistaken for cutdowns when they are just 26" mavic.
