Re: Roberts White Spider, FINISHED ! !

really like it. Good to see a Roberts thats not white. Nice choice of parts. Clean build.

Re:

Thanks for your kind comments.

Waking up to a clear sky here, excellent!

Looking forward to trying it out. 11.15 seems a long way off!

I like that a lot. Perhaps a black cage would keep the subtle stealthy look a little better though. It does stand out/dominate in white.

Look at me using 'subtle' in a sentence.

Never thought I'd see the day!

I know what you mean, I just prefer the white, and it's of that era.

Re:

I rode to work on the bike today, gave me a bit of a feel for it. Taking this photo just before I got there.

Had an easy ride up to Steyning, where I met a friend for lunch. Well ok, a pot of tea and some Barrabrith.

Said our goodbyes, and he took a piccie before I went up, up and away! BTW, I was wearing a helmet as I always do for bike riding , it was out of shot!

So off I trundled, ready for the short but very steep climb up to the top of the Downs,

Steeper than it looks, I'm in first gear here, ready for the onslaught! But it's worth it for the view.

Then onto my testing singletrack, which it handled pretty well 8)

Before heading west, along the Downs equivalent to a motorway.

All the way to just above Amberley, didn't stop at that cafe in the village, honest!

Stopped to take in the view for a minute, and watch a kestrel trying to catch a snack.

Then I had to get past these load of bullocks, to drop down before the climb you can see behind them.

Doesn't look too bad there, does it? Looks worse when you're at the bottom of it though!

A bit further on, to one of my favourite spots for a bike photo, there's actually a bench to sit on. How civilized!

Down into Angmering Park Estate, things got a bit squidgy

Then home 2 1/2hrs later, to a big cuppa, and a dirty bike!

Really pleased with the way it turned out. Reminded me of the Bontrager Privateer I once had, in that it wasn't the lightest bike I have, but it is certainly comfortable and handles really well. More importantly, this one fits better than the Bonty did. Everything works well, and there are no noises other than tyre noise. Will swap tyres depending on the conditions, but the Ritchey Force ones were ok. I just wouldn't trust them in really muddy conditions. Off to find another handlebar end plug, as the one in it, disappeared somewhere

Thanks for your interest and kind words folks, I will bring it to Mayhem this year. Look forward to seeing some of you then.
