love it mike, ive a 30.9 400mm post for sale at mo if its any good. would an rst steerer fit, ive recently heard theyre okay for mag30/rs1's

Still not measued post size yet.

I got a photo from the seller to get an idea of decals I need. Unfortunately, his son is in the way!

I'll put it up here later. Headbadge has the worlds stripes, and there's ROBERTS on the downtube, but not sure if would have the same decal on the top tube, and what was on the seat tube. Maybe the round CR one I already have.

The headtube is 155mm, headset (Ultegra) around 38mm, can't confirm that with Sheldon, so estimated, and the fork crown, about 30mm. So, around 223mm. I have ben offered a 225, but too close to risk my iffy calculations!

Re:

Nice one mate 8) looks a great project .
30.9 is a pretty common size tbh , Spesh use it a lot .

Cheers Paul

Re:

Thanks Paul,

There is some comfort, hopefully literally, in a 155mm headtube!

I'll try to find the seatpostsize tonight, but only have 27.2 or 31.6 at home, so may have to go to the lbs again. There will be a front mech waiting for me there too! Coool !

Here's the badges on mine, though it's a '91
Essentially, not many! Headtube with 'world champion' stripe, older font 'Roberts' on downtube (the DOGS in the background is '92 and that's the newer font), no little spider, and just the 'Chas Roberts' signature on the top tube, front, non-drive side :

Thanks Matt,

It is the newer font in the Photo. And, funny enough, the frame is white too! Lol

Here is the photo of the original bike.

Had a quick measure up tonight, the seatpost will be a 27 or 27.2. The downtube is ovalised a little, 33mm x 37mm, roughly.

Now, time to look for a steerer.
