Roberts MTB - 1989

Re: Roberts Genesis - 1993

Yes, thanks and credit to Sinnerman for the brochure scan and TrevorKershaw for the review - I'll look up the full scan. Well pleased with this - in fact I'm awake early so I might pop for a little ride! :D

Re: Roberts Genesis - 1993

Yep, that's definitely a beauty. Nice and understated with classic looks and a great pedigree. The price makes it even sweeter :D

Re: Roberts Genesis - 1993

I've a brand new white Turbo doing nothing if you fancy a saddle upgrade Mat?

Re: Roberts Genesis - year?

Giving this a clean, and therefore close inspection, after it has been tucked away in the garage since November, and I'm having second thoughts on the year (tbh, I can't recall why I though '93 in the first instance  )...
Group set is Deore II, MT62 mechs & cantilevers, MT60 cranks, MT63 levers, with xt shifters, which I think date to 1989, and the Frame number looks like 89722. Even the Turbo saddle is stamped '88.
Possibly a few years earlier than I thought.
18" frame c-t, 16" c-c with a 22" top tube
Lugged bb, so certainly not something top end like a White Spider, w
Does anyone know whether the 'Genesis' was around in '89?
Certainly a rather lovely frame though, and I'll hopefully be able to get the cantilevers set up soon :?
Insight from other Roberts owners would be very welcome. More pictures tomorrow!
Cheers all.
