It may be a subjective decision and open to criticism, I do get that... but I prefer the classic traditional white and black and these frames don't come around very often to hold out for another one.

Yeah, your right, another one of these wont ever come around as its a one off, the black white ones do however, there have been a couple sold on here recently.

It wont matter what colour it is when he rides it.

Well I did consider keeping it as is but knowing I'd never be truly happy with it I decided to go for the re-paint in the end.

So far I've accumulated a lot of parts for it, I'm proposing:

XTR M900 chainset
XTR M900 brakes (couldn't find the original brake pads for a reasonable price so have nos XT ones)
XTR M900 front/rear mech.
XTR M900 shifters/levers
Syncros stem and seatpost
Hope titanium hubs with dark grey rims
White Flite saddle

The only thing I'm struggling with is whether to put on my Middleburn RS-3 crankset or not, it would save a bit on weight but the M900 cranks are lovely things.

Saddle: Flite titanium white – 291g or Black – 227g
Brakes: XTR M900 with XT M739 pads – 355g (including bolts)
Wheels: Mavic M231 CD, Hope titanium hubs, Panaracer smoke/Dart re-issue
tyres Front – 1650g Rear – 1880g (no cassette, tyres fitted)
Skewers: Hope – 91g
Cassette: 8 speed– 374g
Cranks: Middleburn RS-3 – 599g (with bolts) or…
XTR M900 – 698g (no bolts)
Mechs: XTR M900 Front – 131g (with plastic shim) Rear – 230g
Bottom bracket: Royce titanium 110mm spindle – 193g
Chain: 287g
Pedals: Eggbeater 1’s – 291g
