Road novice bike advice/help required!

Forme are a Moore & Large brand.
Like all the 'first time' bikes, they are built down to a budget, hence all the Forme brand stuff and the 8 speed groupset. The alloy frame carbon fork combo are a good bike basis and the fact it has mudguard eyelet's means you have that option. Like any budget bike, it will get you started, and you can upgrade as you go, or just ride it until you feel the need to get something else.
There is a guy in the 98 section who asked about a Carrera; there were a few alternative bikes offered there, which might be worth a look.
If it were me, I'd use that budget on a s/h bike, but I do understand it is sometimes a frustration trying to find the right one.
