Of my own interest I tryed to cut a Ritchey BB cup/bearing open as well as a normal 6903 bearing that goes onto 17mm axels.
The Ritchey have ø5mm balls, the normal 6903 have ø4mm balls. This is beauce the outer race on the ritchey is integrated with the cub and is not pressed a "loose" bearing that should be presspitted into the cup. This means that the Ritchey bb cup/bearing will last longer, but be a little more heavy than a alu cup+6903 bearing.

Just received my two sets of Ritchey Superlogic 107mm bottom brackets. I've used White Ind. and other with similar BB:s but with smaller bearings. They last a very long time so with these even larger bearings they should greatly improve longevity as well as a much lower rolling resistance.
Real bargain and highly recommended!
