I have been away for a while so I haven't been reading the forums much. I usually do not purchase bikes from collectors because they are usually unwilling to let them go at a price I can handle. I would go as high as $600 for that bike. There are others who would go higher I am sure.

yeah, $600 probably won't do it for this bike, though that's not an unreasonable lowball.

Anyone else willing to wager what it will go for in the end?
I would not be suprised if it goes over $1k but I don't think it will go over $800.

My $600 dollar limit is soley based on my finances not really what I think the bike is worth. I am jaded because I got my Timber Comp for $160, My Ultra for $200 and my Ascent for $300. Totally backwards considering the Timber Comp is the most valuable.

ah well then, it's only fair you pay more for this one/

I'm kidding.

Yes, that was me posting the questions earlier.

I am selling for my friend who, in addition to being bad about caring for his bikes, is also semi-computer-illiterate.
Because of the condition I had first tried to sell locally to somebody who had seen the real thing. When that didn't work we decided to try The Bay.

Must say I have rarely had this many hits on a listing as this time. And there are some 60 watchers of the listing. Guess there are quite a few people who want to find out what it goes for in the end.

I just bought a Team Comp around the time you posted it, or I would've gone after yours. I would keep it as a rider though, no restoring it at this point. I would've just made sure to patch up the bare metal spots, and give it a good tune up.

Best of luck with the sale; I'm curious if it reaches $1000, and I know I'm not alone.

Yes, the seller, not the owner, posted here in the RB MTB chat, when he first picked it up. Discussions were had on it...looks well used, but solid. Was waiting to see if someone would post it here.

So what are we thinking will be its final bid?
Not sure what it will go for but I would love to have it. Too bad I did not get a crack at her locally. With all the stuff I have in my garage I could have rebuilt that bike from the ground up with all period correct parts many NOS. My painter could restore that paint to like new.

I am actually truly upset that this bike is listed now when I have no way of buying it. I have been searching for YEARS for a fillet brazed Ritchey that fits me. I have a Timber Comp but it is my wifes and it is too small.

I'm surprised you didn't see it in the RB MTB Chat forum; it pays to visit other forums besides the sales related ones  (just messing with you)

There's also another 80's Ritchey frame on ebay, not as nice as this one, and that says a lot. But I believe it too is an FB frame, in the "c" s# range.

How much would you have offered had you seen the chat thread, if you care to reveal it?

I am waiting patiently for a full spread layout with the full story and pleanty of pics......

This C is too small for me....I will leave it for you dudes that actually have a physique conductive to cycling. Bring on the big frames........
Better yet, one of the really old ones from the days when they were all cut rather large.

tic toc tic toc tic toc...

a little inside information: I have 89 people watching this listing. That's a new record for my Ebay career.

Nate, did you take a stab?

Yes, a lot of curious people. Being the holidays probably hurt its final bid. At $736, someone got a reasonable to good deal...had I known, I might've been tempted to bid...glad I was no where near the internet

I think given the condition this seems like a fair price to both buyer and seller.

The bike stays in California btw. and I will ask the new owner to post before and after restoration pics on here.

True, and I hope he does post. Thanks

Aaron.......?????
HA, I wish. I am getting good at this though! I said I didn't think it would hit $800. With the economy and being just after christmas. I still think it is worth more. If I were a wealthy man that would have been mine.
