Ritchey softail with weird carbon wheels. Any clues?

A two hour excursion in the network of Roman parks around my sister-in-law's neighbourhood to test the softail I've just had the pleasure to purchase. I've also happened to find a set of NOS mysterious German wheels. I can't remember the brand name, but it's a three letter acronym. They were made in Friedrichshafen, have Edco internals and carbon spokes fixed to the rims via allen bolts. They came untrue afer half an hour but, being incredibly easy to true only using an allen key, I fixed them in 5 minutes time. Do you know anything else about these unusual hoops?

BTW, the bike deperately needs a silver stem and decent tubeless tyres, but I couldn't resist riding one of the bikes I used to covet the most.

Those pesky Romans get everywhere..

Your countrymen gave a lot of thought to forward planning, they left us Brits with the following

Hidden Villa's in the country to explore on an MTB and before they went back home they built all the
nice straight roads we have in the UK just for the roadies :D

BTW
Nice bike

Nice bike

   ... Not to mention some relaxing Spa resorts to recover from hard rides, your capital (which I suspect was there already), where bike couriers can dart around, a series of cities which end in "chester" (Romans were so repetitive), and a veeery long wall you can hop on on your Ibis Trial.... too bad they had to slaughter half the population of the Southern part of the island before they started to build cool stuff for the enjoyment of future cyclists....

Well, actually, the basis of a roman warrior's diet was, apparently, an awful soup of cereals and beans... try to ride after having eaten that and you'll end up with an additional source of air propulsion. Might work....

C-Bike Speed wheels?

I have one of those, but it is damaged, sadly. One of the allen bolts tore out.
