Spotted at our local recycling centre. They sell bikes, but it looks like the previous owner just took it out their vehicle and put it straight in to the container.

Afraid I did, as the site chap said once it's in the container they can't take it out. I said could they try and hook it out, but he didn't budge.

Alivio crank, I have a set of those. A complete waste of a bike.

Yep, same at my local tip....sorry...recycling centre. If it goes in they wont take it out even if its right on top. If you want to put it into the (privately run) recycle shop ypu have to take it over to their area. So people don't bother.

I literally despair of our culture. Worrying about plastic straws, whilst chucking away thousands of perfectly usable items.

It actually makes me feel sick.
