Ribble racers

Well, this one just sold for £63.

There are plenty around and if you’re patient I reckon you could get a decent one for £100-£200. Plenty of people on eBay put bikes like this up for £300+ as a Buy It Now price but I suspect they rarely actually sell. Look out for actual auction listings like this one and you can often get a bargain.

Ribble are often supercheap because they moved into branding far East manufactured frames.

I believe some of their UK built brazed lugged frames were made by other famous framebuilders - and the brand gets good recognition by the public as its still in existence.

So if you're not after obscurity,
it's a rich seam😃

Yes, the late 80s lugged ones were farmed out to decent frame builders: look out for the ones in Reynolds 653 which are real flyers and often go cheap.
Some were. My bro had one that although it was 531c throughout, it used cheap lugs, crown and no-name dropouts. It looked like one of those cheaper batch frames imported in and stickered up.
