I'm selling this on behalf of a friend who has gone travelling. He asked me to put it on ebay, but I thought I'd try here first.
The frame and forks are a bit of a one-off, as Ribble never made 'touring' frames with canti braze ons. My friend was the mechanic for Ribble at the time, and asked if they would make one in 531 tubing throughout, with mudguard and pannier eyelets, and with canti bosses. In exchange he would stay behind for 25 hours labour to build Olympic bikes.
It was used as a commuter for a short period, before he gave up work to spend his life travelling around the world. It has sadly spent most of its day in his parents house under a blanket.

It rides really nice and is pretty quick as well as being comfortable. I would love to keep it, but I can't find a purpose for it, especially as I'm contemplating a bike cull of my own herd. I will be clearing out some 8 speed Dura ace brakes, shifters, crankset, BB and rear mech in next couple of days. I almost put that lot on it!

The spec is as follows,
Reynolds 531 tubing throughout with Columbus dropouts.
56.5cm or 22 1/4 inch centre of BB to centre of top tube.
Stronglight headset
ITM stem
Cinelli Criterium bars 42cm
Selle Italia Expedia saddle
Ultegra 8 speed hubs
Stainless DB spokes
Mavic open 4CD rims
Michelin Krylion carbon tyres (new)
8 speed cassette 13-23
STX long cage rear mech
Dura-ace front mech
Campagnolo Veloce BB
Campagnolo Athena chainset 42/53 172.5mm
Shimano downtube 8 speed shifters
DX canti brakes
Shimano 500 levers
Grey Shimano cables throughout

The bike is fully working and ready to ride. On inspection it would benefit from a wheel true, as they are a few mm out, and the right hand brake lever is missing its plastic surround, but doesn't affect performance.
Rims are very good condition, and blocks look new. There are some signs of use with minor paint rubbing, and slightly warped front mudguard. Plus the saddle has a tiny tear to the corner of the leather, but hardly noticeable at a glance. I have removed the pedals as they are always a personal choice in my opinion, but I can supply some Look pedals if interested.

He wants £160 collected from Preston, Lancashire. Or I can post it at cost.

I'll give it a few days on here before ebay takes a hold.

That's very nice. I'm planning a tour but would surely be murdered if I even suggested it especially after the Waxoil disaster.

Have a free bump.

That is a tasty cherry pie! I would be so having that if I hadnt just bought a touring frame. To be honest i think this is very cheap for what it is. You would easily sell it on bikeradar or lfgss for more.
