Reynolds 531 fork stamping

Hi all, on the top of the fork blades through the paint and chrome I can read Reynolds 531 18/22..... would like to know what 18/22 means. On my 1960 Peaugeot px10... cheers .

It means it is real butted tubing, 18g at the top, 22g lower down. Look up the old gauges to convert into modern metric.
