Retro recomendations please

I need some advice please

I am looking for a retro mountain bike, i now have a roadbike so only need a mtb for going out with the kids and quick pub blasts.

My requirments are

Rigid - no suspension (although would settle for basic front suspension)
Cantilever brakes
Simple and reliable
Strong
Not particularly light but not a tank either
Discrete

£100 or so


I am drawing up a shortlist and need peoples first hand experience, i am thinking along the lines of GT, Trek, Marin, Giant etc

Early Kona Hahana, especially the mid blue model 93ish I think.

Good solid bike which with the decals removed become nicely anonymous.

ive always found gary fishers to be very good and bargain priced
i got an ally gary fisher tasajara and the frame is well solid its taken a right beatin for 4 years was 45 quid almost unused condition its been a really good bike ive got two more gary fishers since buying it
a big sur much lighter and a pro caliber

A little over the budget, ill have to see whats in the piggy bank and check down the back of the sofa too.
