Hello all,

I bought this bike from a neighbour, in Portugal, and I'm using it for Thriatlon Competitions (next one will be in Peniche 🇵🇹).

I attempted to figure out with chatgpt the precise year and model of this bike but without success.

Does someone happen to know this bike?

Bem-vinda, Claudia!

Nice bike. Good colours, too. 😁

One thing about the internet is that it is dominated by Americans. Finding information about stuff that Americans don't know about (like a Portuguese bicycle brand) using American software can sometimes be quite a challenge, I have found, especially when said software starts thinking for you instead of just following orders.

Having got that off my chest: if you haven't done so already, I'd give the people at the Coelho shop in Porto a call, or reach out to them on Facebook. Even if it's not theirs they might be able to give you a lead as to where it may have come from.

And then there's that one American who actually does know almost everything about vintage bicycles. :)

How about you go teach Chatgpt about bicycles, @juvela ?

Seeing that the bunny brand does not appear in that list makes me think it could indeed be a local shop brand.

@ClaudiaSilva , as local shops don't usually build their own frames, chances are that it may have been produced by a larger, better-known manufacturer. Have you found any numbers or other markings on the frame?

Thank you for the feedback. No, I couldn't figure out the serial number. I do know that this bike has an aluminium "Reynolds" frame . When I reached the original brand they told me that those were customized models made by the Grandfather (Mr. Coelho). Since they were customised, these bikes had no model.

I like it a lot. If I ever reach a that performance level one day, I'll use it in the Spirit Thriatlon :

If that frame was actually brazed to custom order by Mr Coelho you've got a nice collectors item on your hands, I'd say.

BTW, I am aware of the Spirit of '78: C&V events in Europe 2025. Should you participate, please let us know how it went, if you don't mind.
