Remember when the lottery started? All those daft conversations about what we'd all do with the money, despite the fact that we all had more chance of meeting Elvis at the local chippy...?

anyway, £1,000,000 has just been given to you, what would you do with it?

Me, having been comfortably well off in my old job, I spent money like it was water and have thoroughly learnt my lesson. Now that every penny counts, I think differently.

I'd by a reasonable house outright, car, travel a bit then bank the rest and live off that and my wits.

a bit boring but thats me...

If it were 'only' £1,000,000 then I'd pay off the mortgage and build the extension that were were supposed to before <<<<< was born.

Buy a nice, not flash, car for me and one for the Mrs. A8, 7 Series or similar.

Keep my business, just get more some staff in so I dont have to work every day. I would still pop in a few times a week though.

Bank the rest, and then live off the interest. When the business picks up more, then sell the house and get something bigger and better.

Boring, I know

give up work and get a hot sexy personal trainer to get me fit again. Just don't let the wife see her

id be dead if i won it

my brother won the lottery this year, so far he is buying me a house and has already gave me £50,000 cash

he hasnt spent a penny on himself though

Pay off mortgage and give house to one of my sisters (and buy starter house for other sister). Pay of all debts. Carry on working, but part-time (sad, but true). Have a nice house and look after the family.

Don't think people would get much interest on £1m these days. I'm sure the investments we make at work don't generate much interest, even long term.

just to add i cleared £31,000 of debt with my cash and stuck £10,000 away for safe keeping.

then gave the wife £5,000 and then treated myself to a £2,500 omega watch and her a £1,500 ring.

bought 5 bikes with my wages as im now £800-£1000 a month better off with no direct debits, car payments, credit card payments etc etc.......thats the main difference as we are a single wage house now and i have to pay all the bills and bring up my little daughter.

so im not wealthy, just managing ok with my wages now.

if id won it id of done the same, payed off familys debts and then gave out cash.

put a fiver too it and pay off my debts

dunno split it 4 ways between me ,wifey and our horrible kids
