Judging simply from the listing and the feedback, I'm surprised that it raised as high a price as it did. Even if the description was entirely correct, the price isn't really that low, and there was plenty of room for doubt.
The bike certainly looks to be a 1992 Kona, but all Konas were available in black as an option in 1992, so it could be any model. And the 1994 decal doesn't inspire confidence that it is as original as the seller claims. In order to believe it was an Explosif, I would want to see signs of the top and down tubes being tapered and ovalised, but I don't see any sign of it in the poor quality picture provided.
Admittedly it isn't a very pronounced feature, but I think we can just about see it in the example shown below, and I would want it to be visible before ever advising anybody to bid on a lot like this. A blue Concept decal as shown below is another good sign, but the eBay bike lacks that too. I wouldn't rule out that it could be an Explosif, but I don't think you could bid with confidence on the basis of the listing.
The tapered and ovalised Tange Prestige Concept tubeset was used on Explosifs from 1990 to 1992 and on Kilaueas from 1993 to 1995.
