£699 in large & extra large, not really the exclusive if there are 80 in the uk.

My bike was more exclusive than that.

Stop...think....outside the box for a change....Remember now that's 80 in four sizes so they are more exclusive than you think they are and how many of those were sold outside the UK? One that I know of for sure because I was promised my large back in May and they had to borrow from across the pond. I'd bet it's close to 25 that left the country because very few countries got them to start with and the UK GT dealers are among the most e-savy bike retailers on the globe....they do it right. So I guess I'm personally sliding them in to the side of VERY exclusive. I'd actually be very surprised if 40 of those 80 are in the UK. Of those forty six to eight are probably in the warehouse yet.
How many people do you know that own them besides the guy that won the MBUK drawing??? Remember the global population is pushing over 6 billion so yeah I'd say they are a bit exclusive. Also remember.....they don't make USA aluminum Zaskars anymore in aluminum all you can get now are import produced Zum's in 2009. Everything else has switched to import Carbon. Nooooow Fluffy what kind of bike do you own and is it really that exclusive in comparison????? Think about it.

Well there was 500 of them reissue frames made (to be made). I do not know of a competition for them.. I never heard of them before today, but I do know my '91 RM Altitude was one of only 7 in the UK bitd.

Marketshare bro both GT and RM were production mountain bike companies although RM didn't sell in a year what GT probably sold in a week back in 1991. Look at it in a comparison of sold and available then and sold and available now Today's is exclusive in comparison. How many bikes did RM sell in comparison to GT in the UK back in 1991? Enough to fill a 28 oz water bottle? maybe more.... probably a 20' containers worth.

They probably sold more RM's than they do now

I still don't think it's exclusive, not when you work out that there will probably be a few in each large town :P

GT's where off the peg mass produced bikes you by in the cheap bike shops, found hung up next to Raleigh's <ducks>

EDIT:

BTW I would build one up all new and the other up old. See how they compare.

I'm sure either on here or VRC there's a thread from a ( some?) unhappy owners, and talk of returning them? IIRC frame quality (welds) were among the issues?

They built this re-issue frame with rear V-brake bosses too

Not on the advert I saw for it and can't see them very clearly on the picture above either.
Many apologies though if i'm in error :)
