Retro gaming Mega Drive.

Dug my old Mega Drive out of the shed the other week and have been trying to get it working.
Have got a full HD LG television and have connected it into the arial socket at the back and auto tune and manual tune but can't get a picture.
Any ideas?
I know you can get scarts and phono leads but was told it should work on the arial connection too.

Turn on console and tune your analog channels with the megadrive plugged into the Arial slot. If anything works then this will.

modern tv's are a git because they are designed to bring in digital strength signal.

if you have one, try running the aerial line through a signal booster first & manual tune a random channel (9 or 0 are usually best to avoid confusion)

the biggest problem i've found is that on anything over a 20" screen you get cracking headaches because of the pixellation, small screens or old crt's will always work a lot better for old consoles.

with everywhere being switched off the analogue signal you can pick up cracking rear projection / crt tv's for next to nothing these days because nobody wants them. simply keep one of these out in the shed & have a retro console, retro tv and retro bike living in perfect harmony.

only way i could get mine to work is with a scart lead as my tv only has 60hz and the megadrive only outputs 50hz through Ariel jack. the megadrive one outputs the best picture via scart as it was made using a far superior colour chip than the megadrive 2. :D

What are you playing?

I have the emulator on laptop which i could link to tv. Mayeb thats an option.. But of a cop out but its the same game. And for the psx emulator i have the proper grey psx controller. Analogue controller? No way maaaan!
