retro chainset

I'm rebuilding a clockwork mtb soon but I'm looking for a chainset to go with the shimano xt components allready acquired. I did buy a new stronglight chainset but this is to modern. If anyone as an xt, lx or similar type of chainset in very good condition please get in touch with a price. I use 170mm crank lengths. Thanks :D

the 1990's is a long decade and offers at least 3 different chainsets

110mm bcd, 94 compact, 4 arm etc etc...

good point. I suppose the question is does it really matter what chainset you use. I dont think it matters which one from the 90's it is.

Re:

I have XT and Sugino I'll get photos if you're interested.

It only matters if you're going for a period correct build, if you just want a 'retro' mtb to ride then it matters not. A lot of people on here are very specific with the parts they will use, each to their own as they say :D

Oh and you'll want ratios to be right for your cassette too of course ;-)

I have a Shimano Deore LX M563 chainset, 175mm silver arms, compact 42 32 22 chainrings, black out ring in good condition with very little wear on rings if interested?

If you get some photos of the xt and sugino chainsets that would be great. Email them if you want to (the pics lol) [email protected]

I have had some great offers but still looking 8)
