Retro bikes with a new school twist,

I'll have a go, budget simply didn't allow full period parts so I've just hinted towards age. To replicate the original spatter paint and decals would have been nigh on impossible then try finding a Suntour XCD groupset and Joe Murray Maximum and Reaction tyres.

Wheelset, frame and forks date from 1990 most other parts from 93/94. The crank, dérailleurs and pedals are from modern ranges.

Everything is like brand new and just a bit lighter than it was out of the factory.

yes longun s&m bars , the smallest cruiser bars with 5" rise ( and that lovely slam sweep ( mmm slam bars )) ; I had to get them ordered into the country on special order as nobody brings them over . I guess I should have taken the pics a day the seatpost wasn't broken . It will soon be straight satin black as I'm finding the rasta splatter a tad too garish , especially with the polished parts .

I put the pic of my Stumpy up at work so didn't really get a chance to explain it - basically the forks that were on it - Judy T2s were beyond flexy, they were bloody dangerous!!!! I think I could probably blame a couple of crashs on them! The Mavericks were cheap on ebay and having read some reviews, decided to get them. I can honestly say they are some of the best forks I've ever ridden. The frame rides lovely, I don't have a problem with any other part of the bike (apart from not being able to buy amberwall tyres any more!)but suspension is one area where I personally think modern poops on retro from a great height, but at the same time I don't like bikes with bendy down tubes!

P.s. liking those two Konas!
