RETIREMENT AND WOMEN ?

How come women can retire earlier than men, if they generally live longer ??? :?

On 6 April 2010, the State Pension age for women started to increase gradually from 60 to 65 to match men’s. This affects women born on or after 6 April 1950.

My Sister was whinging about retirement ages the other day..

I told her it was the fault of her race, fighting for equality... they should've stayed in the kitchen where they are designed to be and retirement age wouldn't be an issue now..

I think the majority of us will still be working until we are 70.

Seems to me that my generation (mid-40's now) and even my missus' gen too (almost late 30's) are a lot younger (mentally and physically) than previous generations..

Even my brother-in-law, at 62, seems much younger than my Dad was when he died at 54...

Financial issues aside I suspect that people 30-60 now will be able to work further into their autumn years than previously...
