The quality is impressive and must of taken a lot of time and effort, but I can't really justify going through all that effort and time as I'd would be scared I'd damage it, the whole point of bikes is for them to be ridden, but each to their own, does look good.

tis the opitomy of western oppulence [please excuse spelling]
its just not fair, dont bronze, copper, platinum get a look in ? may be a tastefull emerald machined into the h bar stem would make it even better.
i remember the mod scooter scene from the 80/s and large surface areas were gold plated and indeed engraved.
prhaps engraving i could view as art ! may be if i was was 33 years younger i would be saying ' cor cor look at that!!'
i reckon all that gold takes something away from the bike itself ! its identity ?

Copper bike............ :)

could also be a health and safety issue as gold is one of the best conductors of electricity.
if you happen to get caught out in a thunder and lightening storm... probably best to use 38mm cyclocross
tyres

If it can get out of the sky to the ground, I don't think a 38mm gap from rim to pavement is going to be a challenge.

Not that steel is famous for it's insulative properties.
