Hi guys,
wanted to pick your collective brains about an impending resto-job,i have a '96 Kona to try and sort out,but the seatpost is seized in it,could also do with a lick of paint, just wondering if you guys could reccommend anyone or have any idea of price? im entirely jealous of the beautful retro-restores i've seen on here and would like to rock one of my own.

many thanks,

Speak to David at Colourtech based in Dartford Kent do all of Chas Roberts frames. Frame will cost you about £80. Phone: 01322 555549 Did not charge to remove my seatpost 8)

You'll get a better finish from the powder coaters
Harder wearing too.
I've seen 2 bikes done in the same colour ,one painted ,one powder.
The painted looked dull and lifeless compared to the powder coated, which was stronger and more vibrant.
When i change my rc30s to black[from chrome]They will be powder coated.

I've had paintwork and restoration done at Argos Cyles and it's second to none. Gary's burn and bend repairwork is excellent but DO NOT WATCH HIM repair your bike unless you've a strong constitution.
The paint, like any stove enammel paint, is less hardy than a powder coating which is what I have these days if authenticity is a lower priority than toughness. It's also much cheaper.
