I'd just give the Fusion a strip and clean then ride it around a bit before something else catches your eye

Patina for me. If you go full resto every component ends up having to look 100% and it is a never ending cycle (yuk yuk) of diminishing returns as you start seeking perfection in every last wee bit - some of which may have been pretty crap in the first place. Once it is perfect, you might find yourself unwilling to risk mud or crashes. What to do with the thing now? Get it working nice and smooth then ride it. Each to his own though.
