Respraying a frame that doesn't need it.

I've arranged everything with the sprayers and its all ready to go they just need me to give a collection date

But now I'm having second thoughts :? trouble is I've had my head turned by a few white konas on here

I'd decided on metallic white with the older style decals the ones with the purple 'K' :) I just think its such a clean, simple looking colour scheme but absolutely stunning :)

But is it a terrible thing to do to a frame that doesn't need spraying  my thinking is :? at least I know the history of this frame so if I'm spending a bit on the respray at least I know there's a decent frame underneath :?

Or is it an evil, evil, evil thing to do to a nice original frame :?

Cheers
Steve

Are you going to ride it more with the new paint job? My guess is yes, in which case, go the respray..

If you're worried about keeping the frame's "originality" value, think twice..

This one :? I'm not concerned with keeping its value and I'll probably build it up and use it as my main bike :) where as now its just gathering dust

Oh god I've wanted one of those for ages! Don't respray it!

Edit: I would say that don't respray, I already have a white Kilauea!

I think it looks nice as it is! But I certainly wouldn't be worried about originality, & those white ones don't half look nice... Go for it, especially if it means it'll get ridden :)

FWIW, I think it looks pretty cool as it is - if it was mine I certainly wouldn't respray it metallic white. The original paintwork appears to be in such great condition that it would be a real shame to change it.
