Replacing a turbocharger: new or reconditioned?

I don't have any real issues with buying reconditioned.
Just make sure you know what you are getting.Ask for some assurance of quality. If there workshop looks like a s1t heap, best avoid. If they look like they know what they are doing and can show you what and how they do what they do, then go reconditioned.

I'd look for testimonials from previous customers if they're available. Not so much for the quality, but to see how they handled any customers' problems that did arise. Really, it's just a big hair dryer. If they use quality SKF, FAG, etc. bearings, you really can't go wrong with the warranty they give.

If they use bearings like that then your looking at ball bearing blowers which are £££££££ :D
