Repairing Alu frames, is it worth it and pictures please

I have an alu frame with a cracked bottom bracket shell, and headtube, is it a no gower?

I'd say bin it. Unless you're going to hang it on a wall.
It's not worth the chance of injury (or worse) if the frame fails after repair.
There are plenty of decent frames around for less than £100.

I'd agree - a small failure on a more minor area is one thing but a frame cracked as yours is had had it.

if it was mine i`d weld it my self and use it for work,no use keeping it and not using it ,it`s worth doing your self but not worth the expense to get someone else to do it :cry:

If there is two cracks on the frame, I wouldnt use it anymore as it's too risky.

new on-one Scandal is only £225 - so why waste time repairing an old one!

A new or used frame would be almost as cheap as a repair, and a lot less than medical bills from crashing a repaired and subsequently broken frame.

I'd say it's a waste of time.

I had a Pace RC200, went to the welders 3 times (in diff areas of the frame), everytime it was repaired a few weeks later cracks appeared elsewhere.

Because of fatigue in Aluminiu, once its cracked it's probably a sign that the frame as a whole is on it's last legs.

Depends on what the frame is. So what is it?

Yes if it is a fully, no if it is a hardtail or road ride

or steel for that matter

Aluminum fails in a nasty way...wouldn't chance it unless you're a great welder or willing to pay one.
