Ok I'm needing help again lol. I'm trying to remove my old hope bottom bracket I've bought the park green pin spanner as suggested by a nice chap on here which is doing a great job gripping the BB but... its rather stuck after being in there for a good few years.

Sooo first of all anyone know if its the drive side or none drive side I need to be undoing first, also it is clockwise isn't it that you undo it? I know they're probably aft questions but I want to make sure I'm doing it right. Any ideas for helping shift it, I've heard of using heat treatment like a heat gun will this help?.

Try dropping some Plusgas down the seat-tube..or other such stuff...and let it soak overnight.
You really need 6 (is it?) pins for better purchase...those cups are made of cheese...go easy.
I took mine to my LBS who had a campag 6 pin tool that did the job

Drive side cup loosens clockwise.
Left side cup loosens anti-clockwise
(Am assuming it's an MTB and therefore likely to be BSA threaded)

Hope cups are removable from central sleeve so it makes no odds where you start - but it'd be best to take the least seized side first.

Lol cheers it is mtb yeah, I think both are pretty siezed :( when you say left and right hand side do you mean with the frame upside down so your looking at the BB shell from above or with the frame upright so your looking at the seat from above? sorry if its a stupid question

Yup...when sitting on the bike...the rhs cup is the one by your right foot.
Easiest way to remember is cups turn towards the forks to remove..both sides.

I`ll be removing mine soon to replace the squeaky bearings.
Does anybody know the bearing type in Hope square taper bottom brackets?
I did have it written down somewhere but I have misplaced it

It'll have the code on the bearings, but I'm sure they're 6903RS from memory.
